Die Fantastischen Vier

Die Fantastischen Vier will perform on 14 January 2027 at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. The Stuttgart quartet—Smudo, Thomas D, Michi Beck and And.Ypsilon—has shaped German rap since the late eighties with clearly articulated flows, wordplay and observations of everyday life. Live, their lyrics meet productions that range between funk, pop and electronic music; often reinforced by a band that opens up the sound and keeps the songs in motion.

The set connects early tracks like “Jetzt geht’s ab!” and “4 gewinnt” with phases from “Die 4. Dimension” and “Lauschgift”, as well as chapters from “4:99”, “Fornika”, “Für dich immer noch Fanta Sie”, “Rekord” and “Captain Fantastic”. The four alternate between rap passages and choruses, pick up motifs, stretch sections, leave room for call-and-response, and build transitions that reframe the studio versions. The concert traces this development, with language at its center, close contact with the audience, and a repertoire that many sing along to.
