Evanescence

On 23 September 2026, Evanescence will play at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. Founded in the mid-1990s in Little Rock by Amy Lee and Ben Moody, the band still combines lyrical vocals and piano with heavy guitars, electronic textures and choral tensions. Their international breakthrough came in 2003 with Fallen; Bring Me to Life and My Immortal paved the way from alternative metal into the mainstream. The Open Door (2006) continued their atmospheric side, while Evanescence (2011) leaned on a more direct rock attack. With Synthesis (2017) the group reimagined part of their catalogue in orchestral and electronic arrangements, before The Bitter Truth (2021) brought them back closer to a grittier alternative sound. At the centre is Amy Lee, whose voice and piano shape the tension between dark imagery and melodic immediacy. Live, this produces a set that consolidates different chapters of the band — from early hits to newer material — and brings the contrasting facets of their sound to the stage.
