Info
On 31 March 2026, Polar will take the stage at Ostpol in Dresden. The quintet from Guildford has been operating since the late 2000s at the intersection of metalcore and hardcore: hard riffs and driving drums meet melodic arcs of tension, with an interplay of shouts, spoken passages and clean vocal lines. Over the years the band has sharpened its sound: Iron Lungs laid down the raw foundation in 2012, Shadowed by Vultures (2014) and No Cure No Saviour (2016) expanded the structures and brought emotion and dynamics more into focus. Nova (2019) added atmospheric colours without losing the pressure. Everywhere, Everything (2023) consolidates this development into songs that oscillate between abrasiveness and expansiveness. Live, Polar distils exactly this tension: powerful, precise, with hooks that stick in your head and breakdowns that ignite instantly. Expect a set that draws on material from all phases, spanning the arc from the early hardcore drive to the more recent, melodic tracks—compact, high-energy and clearly conceived for the stage.
