Shenandoah

Shenandoah brings back the warmth of late-80s and 90s country with the blend that shaped their identity: Marty Raybon’s lead vocals up front, Mike McGuire’s steady pulse on drums, guitars with a Southern rock tint, and harmonies rooted in gospel. Formed in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the band carved out a place in Nashville with narrative songs drawn from small-town life and a melodic, no-frills approach. From their self-titled debut through The Road Not Taken and Extra Mile, then the more contemporary In the Vicinity of the Heart with Alison Krauss, their catalogue maps an evolution that never lost sight of voices and storytelling. Later chapters, from the country-gospel Good News Travels Fast to Every Road and its cross-generational collaborations, kept that core intact.
