Black Flag

Black Flag returns to the stage for an evening built around founder and guitarist Greg Ginn. Formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, the band forged a fast, abrasive take on West Coast punk that helped shape American hardcore, then pushed into slower, heavier terrains and ragged instrumentals. Through shifting lineups — from early vocals by Keith Morris to the Henry Rollins years — Black Flag kept a DIY course, touring hard and releasing on Ginn’s SST Records, building an independent network that marked the scene for years.

In Winnipeg, the band digs into that history across two sets in one night. Expect tight, dissonant riffs, abrupt turns and a blunt, minimal drive that links the frantic bursts of the early singles and Damaged to the weight and tension that came with My War and the mid‑80s records. It’s a direct, no-frills approach focused on the songs and the edge that has always carried them on stage.
