David Castello-Lopes presents Délicieux, a solo piece that examines pleasure from every angle. A journalist and columnist, he brings his taste for explanation and detail to bear on a mapping of tiny joys as well as unavowable satisfactions. In an hour and fifteen minutes he unfolds a playful investigation: a glass of Chasselas by a lakeside in spring, a promotion that comes through, the idea of eating Gruyère in Gruyères, or the small thrill of correcting those who pronounce the "z" in Étivaz. And, darker, the relief that the disappearance of someone you didn’t like can bring. Without heavy-handed moralizing, Délicieux offers a precise and teasing look at what moves us, in a format designed for everyone: a family show.
