Formed in Chicago in the late 1990s, Rise Against plays taut yet melodic punk rock and melodic hardcore, fronted by Tim McIlrath’s voice. Born around McIlrath and bassist Joe Principe, the band laid its foundations with The Unraveling and Revolutions per Minute, before broadening its scope with Siren Song of the Counter Culture and The Sufferer & the Witness. The arrival of Zach Blair in 2007 stabilized a quartet completed by drummer Brandon Barnes, who appears on Appeal to Reason, Endgame and The Black Market, and later on Wolves and Nowhere Generation, shifting between fast tempos, more mid‑tempo passages and alternative rock contours. The lyrics remain focused on social tensions, American politics and the individual dilemmas posed by power relations.
On July 7, 2026, Le Bikini in Ramonville-Saint-Agne welcomes Rise Against for a date that spans these different periods and this blend of melody and urgency—music made for the stage.
