The Datsuns

Association Tout à Fond presents The Datsuns at Secret Place in Saint-Jean-de-Védas on July 22, 2026. Born in Cambridge, New Zealand, they came to prominence in the early 2000s amid the garage rock wave by blending classic hard rock, punk energy and a seventies legacy. Led by bassist–vocalist Dolf de Borst, the quartet forged a path between the local scene and the United Kingdom, playing clubs, touring and appearing at festivals. A self-titled debut album in 2002 opened the way, followed by Outta Sight/Outta Mind in 2004, produced by John Paul Jones, then Smoke & Mirrors, Headstunts, Death Rattle Boogie, Deep Sleep and Eye to Eye in 2021.

Their signature: twin lead guitars up front, fast riffs, direct rhythms and high-register vocals. A sound that looks as much to 1970s hard rock as to contemporary garage, with songwriting focused on the effectiveness of the tracks and their impact live. The Datsuns arrive with a repertoire conceived for the stage, driven by tightly structured songs and a clear, no-nonsense energy.
