April Wine

April Wine returns to Montréal for a night at Théâtre Beanfield on 7 February 2026. Formed in 1969 in Halifax before settling in Montréal, the Canadian band shaped a blend of melodic hard rock, FM-ready hooks and electric ballads, driven by vocal harmonies and guitar lines that became their hallmark. The early run — April Wine (1971), On Record (1972), Electric Jewels (1973) — set the tone with harmonized guitars and choruses built for rock radio, followed by Stand Back (1975) and First Glance (1978) as touring took them across North America.

The shift into the 1980s brought The Nature of the Beast (1981) and Power Play (1982), along with songs that still anchor their setlists: I Like to Rock, Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Just Between You and Me. After a pause, the 1990s return with Attitude (1993) and Frigate (1994) kept the catalogue moving, and the stage has remained their main terrain since. At Théâtre Beanfield, April Wine lines up a set that spans eras, alternating riff-driven cuts and slower numbers with the straight-ahead, melodic drive that defines the band.
