Ulrika Spacek play The Pearl in Vancouver, BC on Friday, April 3, 2026. Formed in London around songwriter Rhys Edwards, the band works a seam of experimental rock that folds in noise, psychedelia and a kraut-leaning pulse. Their sound builds from layers of guitar, insistent rhythmic motifs and vocals set back in the mix, favoring repetition and texture. The debut The Album Paranoia (2016) sketched an art rock and shoegaze outline; Modern English Decoration (2017), recorded largely in a domestic space turned studio, sharpened the approach. The EP Suggestion (2018) leaned into a more fragmented, introspective writing. After a pause, Compact Trauma (2023) stretched structures, played with dynamic shifts and introduced a discreet electronic palette without leaving the guitar backbone.
