On 1 May 2026, Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal hosts Archspire’s Long Roads Big Loads Tour. The Vancouver five-piece pushes technical death metal with extreme tempos, tightly segmented drumming and dense arrangements. From All Shall Align (2011) to The Lucid Collective and Relentless Mutation, then Bleed the Future (2021, with producer Dave Otero), the band has refined compact writing, sharp contrasts and a percussive vocal flow. On stage, Archspire plays as a locked unit, translating studio detail into a clear, incisive set.
From Colorado, Crown Magnetar delivers a technical, brutal deathcore shaped by rapid pacing, massive rhythmic breaks and a constant duality between high-pitched screams and deep growls. With The Codex of Flesh (2021) and Everything Bleeds (2022) on Unique Leader, the group focuses on precision and saturated textures.
Rochester’s Undeath draws on early ’90s US death metal: heavy mid-tempo riffs, sudden accelerations and guttural vocals rooted in horror themes. After demos on Maggot Stomp, the band joined Prosthetic for Lesions of a Different Kind (2020) and It’s Time… to Rise from the Grave (2022), favoring direct, compact songs.
Cleveland outfit Mutilation Barbecue works at the junction of brutal death and deathgrind, with short, abrasive tracks and gore-driven imagery. Early releases on Gurgling Gore set the tone; live, the set balances weighty mid-tempo sections and grind-leaning surges.
