MEN WITHOUT HATS with Guest The Spoons

Men Without Hats headline Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg on January 19, 2026, with guest The Spoons. Formed in early-80s Montreal, the band centers on singer and songwriter Ivan Doroschuk and a sound built on keyboards, simple, driving rhythms and direct, memorable refrains. After an initial EP, Rhythm of Youth (1982) set their course across North America and Europe, followed by Folk of the 80’s (Part III) (1984) and Pop Goes the World (1987), where their synth-pop palette opened up to more guitar and radio-friendly formats. The turn toward rock textures marked The Adventures of Women & Men Without Hate in the 21st Century (1989) and Sideways (1991), before a pause and a gradual return with No Hats Beyond This Point (2003) and Love in the Age of War (2012). Activity picked up again on the road and in the studio, leading to Again (Part 2) in 2022, with Doroschuk as the steady core of an evolving lineup.

The Spoons join as special guests, bringing a kindred new wave sensibility to the bill at 1425 Regent Avenue West, Winnipeg.
