Les Bodin's « Grandeur nature »

Les Bodin’s arrive at L’Espace Mayenne in Laval on 27 February 2027 with Grandeur nature, their cult show that stages rural life on a theatrical farm. Maria Bodin, a forthright matriarch, steers the ship. At her side, her son Christian, a big-hearted, somewhat overwhelmed man-child, moves between farm chores, petty neighborhood squabbles and impromptu visits. Behind these characters, Vincent Dubois and Jean-Christian Fraiscinet, a duo formed in the 1990s, have honed a precise performance style and writing that sketch rural everyday life without frills.

On stage the farm comes to life: henhouse, yard, tractor, laundry on the line — everything becomes a playground for their dialogues and misunderstandings. Grandeur nature reenacts village life, its routines, celebrations and crises, with a sense of pacing designed for the stage. After their 30th-anniversary tour, the duo extends the adventure into 2027 and stops in Laval to place their characters back at the heart of the set.
