In Déols, at Mach 36, on April 10, 2027, Dany Boon returns to the stage with Clown Is Not a Profession, a new one-man show that goes back to basics: a microphone, stories and the unchanged desire to make people laugh. After seven years away from the boards, the comedian picks up where he left off, moving between stand-up and character work, clever asides and situations that spin out of control. The title sets the tone: it questions the idea of “playing the clown” without making it a career, drawing on everyday life — little embarrassments, tangled accents and overflowing families. Dany Boon plays the intimacy card, with self-deprecation at his side, presenting intersecting portraits and a sense of timing that holds the audience. A comeback driven by his taste for observation, a few confidences, and the childhood dream he hasn’t put away: to provoke that collective laugh for the length of an evening.
