Bertrand Belin presents Watt, the eighth album from a singer-songwriter active for more than twenty years in French song. With a deep voice, spare phrasing and impressionistic images in which colours, textures and animals appear, his lyrics move with a measured pace, attentive to the smallest detail. The arrangements combine fairly classical strings with electronic rhythms, producing a sound that is spare and fluid, at times touched by jazz, chanson or a hint of trip-hop. The whole work explores the space between the intimate, the collective and the environment, like a narrative that opens up and then contracts.
In concert on 14 November 2026 at La Gespe Tarbes, Belin brings Watt to the stage and weaves these new pieces into his repertoire. The emphasis is on space, silence and the pulses that carry the language, in a direct interpretation, without unnecessary effects, attentive to the words as much as to the sound.
