Sellig « Épisode 6 »

Sellig arrives at the Tangram in Évreux with Episode 6, written and directed by himself. True to his eye for observation, the comedian turns everyday life inside out—those scenes we assume are harmless which, under his magnifying lens, reveal a more twisted machinery than they first appear. He recounts his rigorous apprenticeship at the stove, between approximate recipes and unforgiving rules of cooking. He also embraces his “fifty‑something” phase, a distinct milestone that is neither quite the fifties nor what comes after, with its share of awkwardness. Then he takes us to spend Christmas at his sister’s, a recurring character in his universe, and to Bernard, a methodical and slightly rigid brother‑in‑law. Tree, meal, barbed remarks and family misunderstandings—everything is covered Sellig‑style, with a direct pace. Between tiny hassles and familiar irritations, he turns grains of sand into sketch material, in a crisp writing style that targets detail without overdoing it.
