Info
Kikuo, a Japanese electronic producer, composes a distinctive blend of gentle melodies and darker undercurrents. Active online since the 2000s, he began refining, from 2010 onward, a signature centered on Vocaloid, the singing-synthesis software popularized by Hatsune Miku. His tracks mix precise electronic textures, processed voices and minimalist narratives that linger in the ear, far from standard formats.
His song “Aishite Aishite Aishite” surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, a first for a Vocaloid song. In 2024 he launched “Kikuoland: Go-Round,” a worldwide tour of 41 dates across 19 countries—unprecedented for a Vocaloid producer. That same year, his VRChat world “Yoru Toge” received the Prize of Excellence at the Lumiere Japan Awards, recognizing its approach to storytelling in virtual reality.
Kikuo will be at Salle Pleyel in Paris on March 6, 2026. On stage, he stretches his productions between brightness and shadow, layers synthetic voices over sharp rhythms, and explores that floating territory where pop veers into the experimental without losing its sense of melody. A rare occasion to experience the scope of his work live.
