Yasmine Hamdan first came to prominence on the music scene with the Beiruti indie electronic duo Soapkills, which she co-founded with Zeid Hamdan in the late 1990s. Settling in Paris in 2005, she collaborated with Mirwais on the Y.A.S. project, releasing the album Arabology on Universal in 2009. Since then she has gained international recognition as a singer‑songwriter and solo producer, blending a range of influences: pan‑Arab roots, pop, electronic, soul and guitar melodies. She has worked with filmmakers such as Elia Suleiman and Jim Jarmusch, and has toured worldwide in support of her albums Ya Nass (2013) and Al Jamilat (2017). Her third album, I Remember I Forget, was released on September 19.
