Info

Unknown Mortal Orchestra returns to Paris with its blend of psych-pop, soul and lo-fi rock carried by Ruban Nielson’s mellow vocals and guitar. Born in New Zealand and later based in the United States, the band has shaped over the course of its records a warm sound—hushed grooves, fuzzy riffs and melodies that glide from cottony slow numbers to funky outbursts. On stage, the quartet stretches out the songs, swells the rounded bass, lets the keyboards breathe and plays with drum breaks that give just the right jolt.

On the bill are signature tracks like “So Good at Being in Trouble,” “Multi-Love” and “Hunnybee,” mixed with more recent material from V, a double album recorded between Palm Springs and Hilo where West Coast sunshine, subtle dub and ’70s harmonies creep in. Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be at the Trianon in Paris on 24 March 2026. It’s a chance to dive into intimate, homespun songwriting that manages to be danceable without forcing it, and to rediscover the analog grain that has become their trademark.
