Bertrand Belin

Bertrand Belin returns to the stage with the songs from his seventh album, a record that questions our way of inhabiting the world, the presence of others, and the element of the unexpected that unsettles us. His francophone pop blends limpid melodies with rougher textures — guitars, synths and sustained rhythms — to carry a voice that slices through words with precision. In Belin’s work, the writing refocuses on the essential, stripped of surplus, as if each sentence must aim for a sensitive, concrete core. He says he treats his obsessions in order to transform them into pop material, where meaning and sound balance without decorative effect.
