Julien Santini, a French comedian, presents a stand-up show in which the absurd constantly surfaces. He twists everyday life with seemingly sage confidences, subtle improvisations and a deliberately off-kilter sense of timing. On stage he strings together anecdotes, sketched characters and shifts in tone, plays with silences, picks things up at exactly the right moment and sometimes lets things drift only to reel them back in.
No single through-line is imposed: segments answer one another, the material is built as it unfolds, and he has a knack for leading the audience down unexpected tangents.
