Info
Les Amazones d’Afrique embody a collective history that began in Bamako in 2014, when Mamani Keita, Oumou Sangaré and Mariam Doumbia joined their voices around a clear cause: equality and an end to violence against women. Since then, the collective has brought together singers from across Africa, with a lineup that shifts according to projects and encounters. Their strength lies in the blending of timbres, languages and narratives, and in songwriting that navigates between tradition and modernity.
After two albums, they open a new chapter with Musow Danse, produced by Jacknife Lee. The record blends hip-hop, trap and electronic elements while preserving the acoustic backbone, the polyphonies and the instinct for a memorable chorus that shaped their identity. On stage, the group layers intertwining voices, driving percussion, and guitars and keyboards that outline clear motifs, with lyrics in Bambara, French or English.
Les Amazones d’Afrique will be at La Merise Trappes on 21 March 2026 — an opportunity to hear a pan-African project that connects musical heritage with contemporary sounds and places women’s voices at the heart of the groove.
