Warrior Soul

Born in New York around the singer Kory Clarke, Warrior Soul took shape in the late 1980s at the crossroads of hard rock, alternative metal, punk rock and art rock, with a blunt tone and politically charged lyrics. The band quickly made a mark on the New York scene and then signed with Geffen, where it released a first series of albums that became central to its career: Last Decade Dead Century in 1990, Drugs, God and the New Republic in 1991, Salutations from the Ghetto Nation in 1992, then Chill Pill in 1993. Warrior Soul then developed a nervous, abrasive writing, marked by massive riffs, an urban rock energy and a rebellious vein that places it both in the American hard rock heritage and in a more alternative aesthetic of the early 1990s. After The Space Age Playboys in 1994 and an initial breakup in 1995, Warrior Soul reappeared sporadically in 2000 before being relaunched durably from 2007 by Kory Clarke with changing lineups. This new period led to Destroy the War Machine in 2009, Stiff Middle Finger in 2012, Back on the Lash in 2017, Rock 'N' Roll Disease in 2019, Cocaine And Other Good Stuff in 2020 and Out on Bail in 2022. On stage, Warrior Soul has mostly maintained a regular link with rock and metal circuits in Europe and the United Kingdom, while preserving this taut, direct and unpretentious identity that underpins the entirety of its discography.
