Victor Ruiz

Originating from São Paulo’s electronic scene in Brazil, producer and DJ Victor Ruiz operates within a techno aesthetic that is both melodic and percussive, centered on linear grooves, dense basslines and slow harmonic progressions. After starting out in Brazilian clubs in the early 2010s, he gradually expanded his activity into Europe, playing numerous gigs on techno stages and at festivals and establishing himself on the international circuit. His discography is primarily built around maxi singles and EPs released on specialist labels such as Drumcode, Noir Music, Suara and Electric Ballroom, which host his dancefloor-oriented productions. His tracks are characterized by a strong emphasis on dramatic tension, the use of repeated synthetic motifs and often lengthy structures designed for extended club sets. Alongside his solo releases, Victor Ruiz develops regular collaborations—notably with Any Mello and Thomas Schumacher—that further his exploration of dark, energetic techno sometimes tinged with more melodic elements. Active as a DJ across several continents, he adapts this aesthetic in the club by favoring fluid transitions, a continuous dynamic and a constant interplay between hypnotic techno and more emotional accents.
