Info
A dash of drama, a lot of pop: Emei arrives at L’Alhambra in Paris on March 23, 2027, with her distinctive knack for turning every track into a little scene to be performed to the hilt. Born in New Jersey into a Chinese immigrant family, after taking part in TV contests in China before forging her path in the United States, the singer claims an unabashed theatricality and a direct, high-energy presence.
Musically, she moves between alternative pop, pop rock and indie pop, with hooks that stick and a lively, witty writing style often peppered with humor. Discovered with "Late to the Party" and propelled by "Scatterbrain," she has followed with edgy yet melodic tracks, up to EPs such as End of an Era, RABBITHOLE, or Night At The Opera. On stage, one can expect taut, expressive pop, and a voice that shifts from irony to fragility without warning.
