Modeselektor lands in Montreal on February 12, 2027, at Théâtre Fairmount for a live show that embodies the Berlin duo: tense, hybrid, unpredictable. At the helm are Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, two figures who emerged from the post-reunification free parties of East Germany, turning genre clashes into their playground. Techno, electro, IDM, hip-hop and bass music weave into one another without warning, with rhythm breaks, abrasive digital textures and basslines that take up all the space.
From their earliest releases that established them beyond Berlin to their more recent records, Modeselektor has kept this taste for sound that moves, that surprises, that grabs you at the moment you think you’ve understood the direction. On stage, it translates into a set built for the dancefloor but never linear, carved from raw material, between precision and controlled excess.
