Info
Angine de Poitrine lands in Ottawa at History Ottawa on March 31, 2027 with their instrumental duo format that refuses to sit still. Coming out of Quebec, Klek and Khn de Poitrine work in the gaps between experimental rock, math rock, and angular post-punk, with a repetitive, almost mechanical drive that flirts with techno in the way it builds and mutates over time.
Their tracks are shaped through accumulation and subtraction: short motifs stack up, then suddenly drop out, letting tension and groove trade places. Expect tight, matte-sounding drums, microtonal guitar and bass lines, and chromatic phrases that push against asymmetric structures. No vocals, no front-person theatrics: the focus is on movement, variation, and rhythmic displacement, as riffs shift just enough to keep you locked in and slightly off-balance. After the release of Vol. 1, this show is a chance to catch that precise, jolting energy in full volume, live.
