Info
On February 4, 2027, Nubiyan Twist land at The Adrian Flux Waterfront in Norwich with a new line-up and a live show built for movement. The Leeds-born collective (now split between Leeds and London) hits that sweet spot where UK jazz sharpness meets afrobeat drive, soul warmth, hip-hop bounce and dance-floor pressure, all carried by a big-band set-up.
Expect tight horn lines, restless percussion and grooves that keep shifting without losing the thread. Led by guitarist and composer Tom Excell, the group balance arranged power with a collective, improvising spirit, so the set can flip from punchy riffs to expansive, rhythm-first passages in a heartbeat.
Known for collaborations with names like Nile Rodgers, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti and Fatoumata Diawara, Nubiyan Twist treat genre like a meeting point rather than a box. It’s about connection and momentum: global rhythms, bold musicianship, and a band that plays like one organism.
