Modern Woman (art post-punk, London, UK) is the London art-rock band led by Sophie Harris, the principal songwriter. The band is preparing to release its first album, 'Johnny's Dreamworld', on May 1, 2026 via its new label, One Little Independent Records. Johnny's Dreamworld represents the culmination of Modern Woman's journey, from Sophie Harris's beginnings as an intimate singer-songwriter to forming a full band capable of blending post-punk, avant-garde and folk traditions. At the heart of this album lies the exploration of the strange poetry buried in everyday life. Sophie Harris's lyrics, steeped in literary detail and a cinematic atmosphere, draw their inspiration from a fascination with the hidden, dark side of daily life as well as the contradictions of the female condition.
JK and the GGG's (no wave, Degelite, Paris, FR) is a trio formed in Paris in 2021 and led by James Kaufman. The noisy anthems of JK, a Franco-American versatile musician, form a missing link between pop and noise, in which flashy textures mingle, melodies overlap with hypnotic rhythms, and improbable sonic trompe-l'oeils take shape. Their primary influences are Pere Ubu, Morphine and Stump.
Parkainge (prog punk, Paris, FR) began composing in 2024 with Léo, Lucas and Paul, originally from the eastern part of Paris. Playing loudly and shouting with gusto are the band's hallmarks. Between prog rock and punk, Parkainge's songs take tight turns, speed up without warning, and rarely end up where you'd expect.
