From Dansevise to Only Teardrops: the songs that moved Europe. Emmelie de Forest invites the audience on a personal musical journey through some of the songs that have left their mark on her as a person and as an artist. Since winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013, Emmelie has performed on stages across Europe and built an international career that has taken her from concert halls and symphony orchestras to festivals, TV shows and live events. With From Dansevise to Only Teardrops, she turns her gaze to the songs and the musical heritage that have helped shape her own artistic journey. Using Eurovision's songbook as a starting point, and especially the golden era of the 1960s and 1970s, Emmelie interprets a number of the songs that she grew up with, were an inspiration to her, and since brought into her own music. These are songs that have withstood the test of time, crossed borders, and moved generations of listeners across Europe. The concert offers new interpretations of classics such as Dansevise, Two Lights on a Table, Poupée de cire, poupée de son, Volare and Eres tú (Touch Me) as well as selected favorites from later decades, including Främling, Dance in Moonlight and From Mols to Skagen, woven together with Emmelie's own songs, including the winning song Only Teardrops and newer material from her own universe that traces threads to the same European song tradition. Through personal stories and intimate arrangements, Emmelie takes the audience on a journey through Europe's musical history, where French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, English and Danish songs meet in a shared universe. Along the way she speaks about the songs, the stories behind them, and how they have helped shape her own music and artistic identity. The concert is not a traditional Grand Prix show, but an intimate concert experience, where the melodies, the stories, and the love for the European song tradition are at the center. On stage, Emmelie de Forest performs together with two musicians in an intimate trio format featuring piano, guitar, mandolin, dobro, autoharp and multi-part vocal harmonies. From Dansevise to Only Teardrops is a concert about the songs, memories and music that can bring people together and move them across generations and national borders.
