Info
Marcelo García is a young man from Murcia who has been uploading his songs to the internet since 2016. Under the name Marcelo Criminal we find a lo-fi sound—songs that talk to us about everyday life, without grand pretensions or textbook poses.
His musical influences are very diverse, although the musician himself knows that his music comes more from the sound of Beat Happening, Daniel Johnston, Teen Suicide, or La Estrella de David.
After several songs recorded entirely independently and which we can listen to on Bandcamp, a track would reach Solán de Cabras platforms, marking a turning point in Marcelo Criminal's music and serving as a preview to Acepta su cruz, his first album.
But Marcelo does not stop creating: after the success of Perdona (this time for real), he continued composing and gifting us small songs, which arrived in part grouped as an EP titled Repentino brote de añoranza y amor, released by Sonido Muchacho.
His latest published work is a two-song split titled Preguntar/Responder, where one can discern a certain evolution of his sound, though always within lo-fi parameters.
After premiering and touring his latest album Momento de auténtica realidad, he unveiled his new album La última casa de apuestas at LAUT Barcelona.
