Info
On April 21, 2027, Alexis Ffrench comes to The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh with a piano set that blurs the lines between contemporary classical, neo-classical, soul and R&B. His writing leans on clear melodies, repeating motifs and warm harmonies, with a touch that stays close to the voice: pieces that feel built to be hummed as much as heard.
Trained at the Purcell School and the Royal Academy of Music, Ffrench has shaped a catalogue where intimate, diary-like piano music meets a broader, groove-aware sensibility. From earlier releases to more recent chapters like Evolution, Dreamland, Truth and Classical Soul Vol. 1, he keeps pushing that balance between European piano tradition and a feel drawn from Black music in the UK and the US. Expect a show that moves through calm, meditative passages and more driven themes, always centered on the piano as a direct, emotional storyteller.
