Nduduzo Makhathini (African nu-jazz - South Africa)
The first South African artist signed to Blue Note Records, pianist and composer Nduduzo Makhathini is a major figure in world jazz. Raised at the heart of Zulu traditions and inspired by John Coltrane's spiritual jazz, he envisions his music as a bridge between the heritage of the ancestors, gospel, and contemporary improvisation.
Stranded Horse & Boubacar Cissokho (world-folk - France/Senegal)
Under the alias Stranded Horse, the Norman musician Yann Tambour shapes a universe where Anglo-Saxon folk and French chanson blend with Mande music. Alongside his longtime collaborator, the Senegalese musician Boubacar Cissokho, he delivers with his album The Warmth You Deserve an ode to simplicity and comfort.
