Be4 explores the spirit of Gerry Mulligan's California-based quartet, whose centenary will be in 2027, and of Chet Baker, a chapter in the history of West Coast jazz. Led by the distinctive voice of trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo, surrounded by three collaborators — Xavier Richardeau on baritone saxophone, Thomas Bramerie on double bass, and Dré Pallemaerts on drums — the quartet revisits this iconic aesthetic with finesse and freedom.
An album is anticipated in autumn 2026 (Continuo Jazz), and concerts are announced for next summer and for the 2026/27 season. This concert will be held at the Espace Léonard de Vinci on 6 February 2027 at 7:30 PM.
