On February 24, 2027, at The Starlite Room in Edmonton, Eluveitie brings its Swiss folk metal mix to the stage, where melodic death metal riffs collide with Celtic colors. Built around Chrigel Glanzmann’s vision, the band weaves harsh and clean vocals with a real arsenal of traditional instruments, from fiddle and flutes to bagpipes and hurdy-gurdy. Expect that signature back-and-forth: tight, aggressive songs, then more acoustic-leaning moments that let the folk side breathe, with lyrics that pull from ancient history and myth.
NiNi opens a different door into folk-meets-heavy music, blending modern metal with traditional Chinese string instruments like sanxian and ruan. The result is direct and rhythmic, with melodies shaped by East Asian repertoires and a vocal approach that can shift from expressive singing to heavier textures.
ILLUMISHADE, formed in Switzerland around Fabienne Erni and Jonas Wolf, lands somewhere between cinematic hard rock and melodic metal: clear vocals, big guitars, atmospheric keys, and songs designed around contrast, from airy passages to darker weight.
