The Pineapple Thief arrive in Aarhus on 23 May 2027 at TRAIN with their Far and Wide – European Tour 2027. The band formed in 1999 as Bruce Soord’s studio project in Yeovil, but quickly grew into the British progressive rock scene with a sound that blends prog, alternative rock and art rock without turning empty virtuosity into a virtue. It is more about dynamics, melodic guitar lines and that melancholic, atmospheric tension that can shift from quiet presence to heavy drive in a few minutes.
Live you can expect a set that threads through the catalogue, from the early releases to the tighter and more direct period around Tightly Unwound, Someone Here Is Missing and All the Wars, and on to the newer era, where drummer Gavin Harrison left a marked imprint on the band’s expression. With the stable core around Soord and the other members, The Pineapple Thief today stands as a band that can build long arcs without losing grip on the songs, and that still finds new angles on their dark, melodic universe.
