Psychic Liberation Night: Flora Yin Wong

Silent Green presents the concert series Psychic Liberation.

Psychic Liberation (PL) is a label founded in 2013, originally together with Miguel Alvariño under the name Primitive Languages as a cassette- and record-store project in New York City. Since 2019 Nick Klein runs the label alone from the EU under the title Psychic Liberation.

The eponymous concert series takes place with rotating guests.

• Flora Yin-Wong
Flora Yin-Wong is a sound artist from London who uses rudimentary field recordings, granular synthesis, and traditional instruments, influenced by club culture. Through these elements her work engages with philosophical and psychological themes such as belief, obsession and ritual.

In 2023 she founded the label and publishing house Doyenne, with releases by artists such as Claire Rousay, Alex Zhang Hungtai, Teresa Winter and Lisa Lerkenfeldt.

Her works have been presented, among others, at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, at MACRO in Rome, at Fondation Beyeler in Basel, at the Triennale Milano, at Somerset House, at the V&A Museum and at Cafe OTO in London, at the ISSUE Project Room in New York and at Shedhalle in Zürich.

Afraidofmessages (AOM) is the solo project of Sonja Aguilar, guitarist and singer of the No-Wave-Noise-Rock band BRAK.

In her solo project she uses the guitar as the main instrument. With experimental techniques and various percussive tools she develops AOM abstract sounds and textures from a single instrument, complemented by synthesizers, adding depth and bridging between sonic extremes.

A fusion of contrasting elements in which gentleness and intensity coexist.
