On 22 November 2026 at Strange Brew in Bristol, Loma and Shearwater finally share the same bill again, and it makes perfect sense: both projects connect through songwriter Jonathan Meiburg and producer Dan Duszynski, with Austin roots and a shared taste for meticulous, atmospheric songwriting.
Loma revolves around Emily Cross’s calm, enveloping voice, set inside a pastoral, slow-burning blend of indie rock, ambient pop and art-rock textures. Expect the trio’s careful sense of space and detail, drawing on the arc from Don’t Shy Away to How Will I Live Without a Body?, where subtle electronics and organic sounds sit side by side.
Shearwater comes at it from a more expansive, outward-facing angle. Meiburg’s writing leans into big, image-rich arrangements that move between indie rock, folk and psychedelia, with the band’s more direct recent chapter echoing through The Great Awakening and beyond.
With musicians shifting between the two sets, the night is built as a single journey through two distinct worlds. Dan Duszynski opens with his solo project Any Kind.
