On February 24, 2027, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats roll into AB&B – Amager Bio in Copenhagen with their heavy, retro-tinged blend of doom, psychedelia and garage rock. The band, centered around Kevin Starrs, works with slow, distorted riffs and melodic vocal harmonies, and their songs often have a cinematic edge, as if written for a horror film or a battered B-movie. With records such as Blood Lust, Mind Control and The Night Creeper, they have built a universe of dark tales, and on stage it all becomes rougher, tighter and more direct.
As support comes Conan, the trio from Liverpool, who have made “caveman battle doom” their signature: extremely slow tempos, massive, repetitive riffs and a vocal that cuts through the noise. Since Monnos and onward through Blood Eagle, Existential Void Guardian and newer releases they have kept focus on the physical weight of the songs. An evening for you who want to feel doom and sludge in the body, not just hear it.
