Peter Hook & The Light announce a French tour in spring 2027, during which the band will perform Joy Division’s two studio albums, Unknown Pleasures and Closer, in their entirety, including this show at the Bikini.

Released in 1979, Unknown Pleasures was followed a year later by Closer, whose recording wrapped up just before Ian Curtis’s death, ahead of a posthumous release in 1980.

Since then, these two albums have regularly topped lists of the greatest albums of all time, as compiled by critics and by the public alike. They laid the foundations of a lasting heritage: an iconic visual identity, whose sleeves have inspired numerous T-shirts, a production by Martin Hannett, precise and visionary, and two albums that remain an influence for many bands over the past four decades.

The 2027 French tour will follow another year rich in concerts. After a series of dates across the European Union — in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Belgium — the band will continue on to Australia and New Zealand during the summer, before a 24-date tour in the United States and Canada, as well as several festivals in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the world.

A founding member of Joy Division and New Order, Peter Hook was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the Class of 2026, following a vote in which fans of both groups notably participated. The ceremony will be held in Los Angeles in November.

Peter Hook revisited for the first time the founding Joy Division album Unknown Pleasures in May 2010, on the occasion of a commemorative charity concert. Since then, he has continued annually this work of transmission by performing on stage the albums drawn from the repertoire of his two groups, Joy Division and New Order.

This fidelity to his catalogue has led him to revisit Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, Technique, Republic, the Substance albums as well as Get Ready. After having toured with each of these albums, Peter Hook & The Light now tally nearly 1,000 concerts.

Among the highlights of this live odyssey, which has allowed Peter Hook to introduce or reintroduce his repertoire to generations of audiences around the world, are appearances at Benicàssim, Primavera Sound, Bestival, Kendal Calling, Victorious, Latitude and Rebellion, as well as numerous tours in Europe, the United Kingdom, in China, Japan, North and South America, Australia and New Zealand.
