On September 3, 2026, Paul Banks, the voice and songwriter of Interpol, will bring a DJ set to the Rough Trade Berlin floor that clearly centers on the band’s new era. The occasion is the album This Mirror Weighs A Ton, Interpol’s first release in four years and, at the same time, their debut on Partisan Records. Instead of a live concert, this is Banks as curator: a set of post-punk edge, indie-rock tension and darker textures, as one might know from the Interpol cosmos, but freely mixed and newly framed.
This Mirror Weighs A Ton reads as an inward glance, yet without standing still: reflection, distortion and perception run as guiding motifs through the tracks, as if familiar forms could emerge under different light. Banks’s selection at the DJ booth can carry this mood further – urban, focused, with a sense for tight rhythms and subtle melancholy – and make the evening in Berlin a direct, intimate gateway to Interpol’s current chapter.
