Some artists define a moment, others have been drawing their line through techno for decades. On October 10, 2026, two longstanding fixtures will meet at PLAY in the Kesselhaus Augsburg: Chris Liebing and Thomas Schumacher.
Chris Liebing has stood for uncompromising, precise sets since the early 1990s, shaped by his Frankfurt School, resident years at OMEN, and a clear studio and label DNA. His sound: direct, dry, forward-driving — built for dark floors and long tension arcs, without frills.
Thomas Schumacher, born in Bremen and based in Berlin, comes from the 1990s rave era, and early on left his mark with projects like Elektrochemie LK and releases on Bush Records. His tracks work with tight loops, angular synth motifs, and that distinctive, slightly metallic punch that hits the club immediately.
Two approaches, one common denominator: techno, conceived functionally, hard in the groove and clean in detail. No distractions — only focus on the sound.
