Born Jaten Dimsdale and hailing from the Atlanta suburbs, Teddy Swims first made his name through online covers, where he moved from a soulful standard to a pop hit or a country song without losing that warm, highly expressive rasp. Since then, he has built an original repertoire at the crossroads of soul, R&B and pop, with touches of gospel and rock, driven by writing centered on flaws, stories that derail and rebuilding. From his EPs Unlearning, Tough Love and Sleep Is Exhausting to the album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) (featuring the single Lose Control), he embraces highly melodic formats, ranging from ballads to tougher tracks.
