Born in Scotland in the mid-2000s, the group has built its reputation by cobbling together a folk-tinged power metal—driven by keyboards and tavern-refrains—set against tales of naval battles and treasure. From Captain Morgan’s Revenge to Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, their formula remains the same: fast tempos, crowd-rousing choruses, and a knowingly tongue-in-cheek attitude, crafted to make an entire room sing. Battle Beast rounds out the bill that evening. The Finnish band, formed in Helsinki, delivers a melodic heavy/power metal characterized by tight, precise rhythms and a prominent role for keyboards.
