On January 23, 2027, Alestorm drop anchor at LiveHouse Dundee for a night built around their pirate-flavoured power/folk metal. Born in Scotland and sharpened on a run of albums like Captain Morgan’s Revenge, Black Sails at Midnight and Back Through Time, the band have made a specialty of fast riffs, big singalong hooks and keys that push the party vibe without losing the metal bite. Expect the usual mix of nautical stories, rowdy choruses and that slightly offbeat humour that’s become their signature through records like No Grave but the Sea, Curse of the Crystal Coconut and Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum.
Support comes from Battle Beast, the Finnish heavy/power crew known for straight-to-the-point anthems, bright synth lines and choruses that hit hard live. Since breaking out in the early 2010s, and especially with their more arena-ready albums from Bringer of Pain to Circus of Doom, they’ve leaned into punchy, crowd-driven songs designed for big rooms and bigger voices.
Wizardthrone completes the bill, adding an extra edge to the line-up and rounding out an evening firmly aimed at fans of melodic metal with a taste for spectacle and speed.
