Tokyo-born Takuya Nakamura moved to the United States in 1990 to study under jazz theorist and composer George Russell at the New England Conservatory of Music, before relocating to New York City in 1994 where he became a fixture across the city's jazz and jungle scenes. His fluency across genres, as both musician and DJ, has drawn collaborations from a wide range of artists, a versatility that continues to define his output as he folds deep jazz roots into electronic production.
