Jordan Rakei returns to the stage with the momentum of a musician who finally allows himself to create without guardrails. Ten years after Cloak, the New Zealand-born, UK-based artist opens a new chapter around A Safe Place To Be Wild, an album in which he rediscovers the instinct for chamber beatmaking—the early days—and pushes both the intimate and experimentation even further. Between contemporary soul, jazz, alternative R&B and hushed electronic textures, Rakei moves forward with a writing centered on the voice, keyboards and precise production, always in the service of groove.
A multi-instrumentalist and producer, he has built over the course of his albums a very personal language, capable of chaining neo-soul warmth, jazzy improvisations, pop melodies and broader arrangements, without losing the thread. Accustomed to collaborations (from Tom Misch to Bonobo, via Loyle Carner), he arrives at Große Freiheit 36 in Hamburg on 29 March 2027 to perform this new repertoire live, with that attention to detail and dynamics that defines the signature of his concerts.
