Info
Jordan Rakei returns to the stage with a freer new phase, ten years after Cloak. Born in New Zealand and based in the United Kingdom, the singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer revisits the bedroom-beatmaking impulse that marked his beginnings: creating without rules, experimenting, pushing himself a little off balance. This energy permeates A Safe Place To Be Wild, a record that is more open and more stripped-down, where his voice, keyboards and supple grooves interact with arrangements that drift between neo-soul, jazz and melodic pop.\n\nOver six albums, Rakei has refined a writing voice that tells as much as it moves, blending jazz harmonies, hushed electronic textures and direct songwriting. Known for collaborations (from Loyle Carner to Tom Misch, including Bonobo), he translates all of it live into precisely crafted sets, designed for the energy of the band and the dynamics of the sound. Coming to Stadthalle Köln, Cologne, on 14 April 2027.
