In five years of activity, Midscale has established itself as a safe bet on the French shoegaze scene, while standing as a bulwark against the genre's uniformity. Born from the group's recent lineup renewal, Dread, This Could Help You strikes while the iron is hot. Produced under the guidance of Clément Libes (BRUIT ≤, M83, Bigflo & Oli), this resonates as a sidestep toward an emancipation from the shoegaze label. Midscale here presents itself as decidedly (post) rock, though increasingly dreamlike and melancholic. A four-track of the genre that leaves you astonished, even shaken, unable to think of anything else but 'what a ride.'
AkReptile
AkReptile is the current incarnation of a project started in late 2019 under the name Arthur J. Reptilian. Originally from the eastern part of England and long based in Paris, the artist fuses a wide range of musical influences to create atmospheric and hybrid productions, blurring the boundaries between genres. Their writing, far from being a straightforward explanation, favors interpretation. After two albums released in 2020 and 2023, the name became AkReptile in 2026, reflecting a personal evolution rather than an artistic reinvention. A natural transformation within a project in perpetual motion and reinterpretation.
