On April 1, 2027, Célia Kaméni will be at Théâtre 71 in Malakoff for a concert true to her own style: a voice that moves freely between jazz, soul and contemporary song, without being confined to a single format. Trained in Lyon, she has traversed classical music as well as jazz, building a path where timbre and phrasing matter as much as the space given to improvisation. We have encountered her in large ensembles, notably with The Amazing Keystone Big Band in projects around Ella Fitzgerald, but also in more intimate ventures, through collaborations that attest to her flexibility and curiosity. From Secret Places with Alfio Origlio to collaborations with musicians such as Manu Katché, Erik Truffaz or Nu Genea, Kaméni moves her singing from one territory to another with real coherence. In recent years, she has also developed a more personal repertoire, nourished by broad influences, from Nina Simone to Björk, and she refines an open approach to writing, crafted for the stage. Her EP Méduse, produced in collaboration with Yael Naim, is a fine entry point: precise, vibrant vocal material, always in motion.
